Get out of Debt with a Small Shift!

July 11th, 2007 Author: Candace

“The path of least resistance”, we have all heard that before and think it’s for the lazy or underachievers. Many have been programmed,” it takes hard work to be successful” or “there is no gain without pain”. Well I am here to tell you that hard work is for limited thinkers. The concept of hard work keeps you so busy that there is no time to achieve your goals and dreams. The path of least resistance is the way.

I want to address this in relationship to change. When something happens in our lives that we don’t like we immediately think I have to change that! We struggle to not do it again, to resist temptation, to stop compulsive behaviors. But stopping is difficult if not impossible!

Stopping habitual behaviors is like trying to stop the sun from setting, stopping the wind from blowing or stopping the river from rushing. Unless you are Moses, it takes an act of God! So why push against the river to achieve your objectives? There is another way.

Instead of moving away from what you don’t want, try moving towards what you do want. For an example: Instead of moving away from debt try moving towards financial independence. You say “they are both the same thing!” But they are not. When you focus on your debt it becomes an immovable object. The intense energy and amount of time you spend thinking about debt just creates more of it. If this intense energy and focus could be directed towards financial freedom you would be on your way. It is not how do I get out of debt. It is how I make more money!

It is a small little shift in thinking that will make large changes in achieving the desires of your heart.
