Self Esteem Building Techniques Using Feng Shui?

October 31st, 2008 Author: Candace

We’re not always sure of ourselves as we walk through our daily lives.  Sometimes we have doubts, other times we simply don’t understand what is happening to us, so we’re not sure where our next move might be.

In these uncertain times, it’s easy to begin to doubt the very essence of who you are – and to lose your feeling of self esteem.

But with Feng Shui, you can not only restore your confidence in yourself, but you can also begin to reach out and take what you want from life.  You don’t have to be afraid anymore.

Getting Rid of What Holds You Back

In our lives, we all have regrets.  And while these poor decisions or situations may have had positive consequences eventually, it would still have been nice to have avoided the lessons altogether.

For some of us, we continue to play and to replay these scenes in our heads, thinking that maybe if we torture ourselves enough, we will eventually ‘do our time’ and learn our lesson.

But that usually results in our feeling worse about ourselves rather than better.

Let’s stop this cycle now:

•    Remove any items from your home or office that upset you – Unless you absolutely need to save these items, you should get rid of all of the things that remind you of failures you have had in your life.  After all, they’re over and done with.  And since you can’t change the past, you might want to erase it from your present.  If you need to hang onto the papers, see if you can store them in a storage facility or if you can store them in another friend’s house.

•    Remove any visual cues that upset youIf you don’t like a certain picture of yourself, why keep it hanging up? Instead, surround yourself with pictures that flatter your figure and your face, making you smile each time you see yourself.

•    Choose bright colors in your kitchen and other rooms outside of your bedroom – This will help to increase your energy and make you feel happier every day.  The more energy you create, the less likely you are to sit around and mope.

•    Block negative sources of energy – If your home is near energy lines and other power sources, try to put up a barrier between you and these EM energy fields.  These are probably interfering with your own ability to be balanced and confident.

•    Get rid of tattered clothes and home furnishings – If you’re surrounding yourself with things that are worn out and old because you don’t want to replace them, you’re establishing the energy that you’re not worth items that are in good repair.  You DO deserve well made things.

•    Get rid of anything in your closet that you don’t wear or that doesn’t make you feel special You want to surround yourself with reminders that you are a good person who deserves things that support your confidence and your self esteem.

Increasing your Self Esteem

There are a number of ways you can begin to change your opinion of yourself. But if you’re not quite ready to handle your internal struggles, you might want to address the environment in which you experience your struggles.

•    Add more light – You want to increase the light in every room of your home to allow the energy of the world to surround you and to nurture you.  This light will increase your energy and improve your moods.

•    Try wearing brighter colors – At times, when one suffers from self esteem issues, they think that no one even notices them.  By adding a few colorful pieces to your wardrobe, you will ensure that people not only notice you, but will want to talk to you.  These colors will make you feel more energetic and attractive too.

•    Create a space that’s just for you – This will encourage you to have a space that’s special because you are special.  You can put this space in any energy corner or area you like, depending on where you feel your issues with self esteem might be focused.

•    Make yourself a wall or a book of pride – In these locations, arrange the various achievements you have made in your life and then look at it often to remind yourself what a special person you are.  You might also want to keep blank pages at the back to remind yourself that you still have so much more you can do.

Just by taking the time to address the fact that you have needs and desires, you will enhance your self esteem.  After all, you are someone special who deserves to feel that way.
