The elements of Feng Shui include cosmic energies in your environment that are external from your personal energies and physical and earth energies. These cosmic energies include the Sun, Moon and all of the planets major and minor in our solar system and our Universe. There is an old saying by Confucius “as above, so below”. It references the relationship between what happens in the heavens and what happens to us as individuals. When there is turmoil in the heavens there is turmoil on the planet. When the heavens are at peace, the planet is at peace. This same concept is repeated throughout our world. For example: what parents do, their will children will repeat; the standards set by the head of an organization, are followed by the staff and the behaviors set by the leaders of our country are followed by the people. “As above, so below”.

At your moment of birth, the Sun, Moon and every planet in our universe was located in a specific constellation of stars at a specific degree. It is this snapshot in time of the planets that makes up your Natal Astrology. Many know this as their Sun sign, but, it is more than just your Sun sign that makes up who you are. The combination of planets and stars and their interaction, creates an electromagnetic field that influences who you are. Initially in your life the location and interaction between the planets (Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury) will influence how: you view life, you respond to life and others react to you. These planets are called the inner planets and typically deal with your personal energy field. As you grow and mature you can gain control over these influences. The external planets (Saturn, Pluto, Uranus, Neptune) their location and interaction will affect the things you draw into your life, the things and situations that are external from you. Through maturity, knowledge and discipline you can make choices as to what you let into your life and how your respond to it.

In addition to your Natal Astrology, you are influenced daily by the Transiting Astrology. Transiting Astrology is the present time movement of the Sun, Moon and planets. There are certain times in life that everyone will encounter major transits or windows of opportunity/challenge to gain control of their life. Often people see these times as crisis, but they are truly gifts (if you choose to master them). These transits come into your life to assist you on your journey thru growth. The major windows are listed below.

If you are experiencing challenges at times other than those listed below there could be other astrological influences affecting you. Understanding your natal astrology makeup is an important part of the foundation of understanding your personal energy. It is often very confusing to understand how you have arrived at where you are in your life. Knowing your astrological make up will assist you in understanding how you came to be where you are and the why of your behaviors and actions. Often it is difficult to identify the area(s) that need work and learning astrology is a lifetime of study. An astrologer can assist you with this process. Working with an astrologer, you can learn what it is you need to work on. Then you can choose to take responsibility for your lot in life and take action.

Major Windows of Opportunity/Challenge:

These windows happen over periods of time. It is like standing in one spot and in the distance seeing an approaching train. The train comes closer and closer until it is upon you and then it moves farther and farther away until you cannot see it any more. This enables you to withstand the energy and to also transmute it and grow from it.

Saturn Return: Your first Saturn return happens in your late twenties. This is
called a Saturn return because Saturn has made a complete revolution and returned to its original place at your time of birth. It has also moved thru each aspect of your life and created a structure for the way you live. It is at this time that you come to evaluate the progress you have made in your life and where you are today. This is the time where you make decisions about where you begin to question where you are and where you want to go in your future and what you want to leave behind. Your natal astrology will dictate what issues you come upon and how you will handle them.

Uranus Opposition: Your first Uranus opposition happens between the ages of
38-44. At this time in your life you will begin to question and analyze the emotional side of issues were prior to this you were more concerned with the structure of things.

Chiron Return: Your first Chiron return happens when you are about fifty. This
is a spiritual awakening. You will be dealing with merging structure and emotions and healing the duality.

2^nd Saturn Return: Your second Saturn return will happen in your late fifties
around the age of 58. Again, you will again be dealing with issues of structure. If you have been diligent up until this time in learning your lessons, this window can pass easily.

2^nd Uranus Opposition: Your second Uranus Opposition will happen around the
age of 84. This is a completion of a cycle.

If your life is in a difficult time and you find yourself in one of these windows do not blame your Feng Shui. The best Feng Shui in the world cannot overcome these windows; however, Feng Shui can ease the transition. The physical energies of Feng Shui can influence your environment but they cannot change your astrology and the effects of your astrology. One must work thru your challenges to master these windows. All of the practices that you will be given in the book will assist you in mastering these windows of opportunity.

Understanding and learning to control your personal energy and physical energy and using the cosmic energy to assist you on your journey, is the path to Feng Shui as a life style. This life style will create a life of balance and harmony in all things
