Candace Czarny, CFM, LEED AP, ASID, is the President of Wind and Water Interiors, a design firm with more than 25 years of experience in the field of resident and commercial interiors. From the inception of an idea to the completion and grand opening the firm's portfolio includes projects for residential and model homes, hospitality facilities, time share facilities, corporate facilities, private offices, law offices and restaurants, ranging in size from 500 to 750,000 square feet.
Czarny has practiced interior design since 1977, when she received her Degree in Interior Design from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Since that time she has managed projects with budgets from a few hundred dollars to $64 million. She has also developed cost containment programs with savings of $42 million.
As one of the first Certified Facility Managers in the United States, Czarny was invited by the International Facilities Management Association to teach Facilities Management to other managers for credit toward their certification. Eight areas of expertise are required to be certified as a Facilities Manager. Those areas are project management, operations and maintenance, real estate, finance, human and environmental factors, quality, administration and communication.
Czarny has been studying one-on-one since 1991 with a Feng Shui Master. She incorporates the ancient Chinese art of placement into her interior design work. Her many satisfied clients have noticed dramatic results using Czarny's Feng Shui advice in areas of their lives ranging from romance to business. Although she has extensive experience in corporate design, Czarny enjoys focusing on interior design where she can work one-on-one with clients to create a nurturing environment.
