I've been studying Feng Shui recently and have already gotten a lot out of it. I share an apartment with a friend who isn't really interested in Feng Shui, so I can't completely re-adjust the whole place. Therefore, I focus mostly on my large bedroom, my personal bathroom, and my office at work. My bedroom wall to the right, connecting relationships, creativity & helpful friends, is an entire closet with sliding doors and divided in the middle.  It's pretty organized but there is lots of stuff in there including storage cabinets on top. I have a standing brass, oval mirror in the relationship corner, at an angle, and it does not conflict with the bed. Helpful friends corner is good and has jewelry, glass, stuffed animals and pictures on the dresser. But there doesn't seem much I can do with the creativity section because it's just sliding wood doors divided right in the middle (off-white paint matches the walls). Probably can't paint because I rent. Any thoughts? Also, my bathroom is great but my medicine cabinet has sliding glass doors, which I've read are not good because of the difference in depth. They are also in the creativity section. I wanted to place a close-up mirror in the relationship corner next to it, because I wear glasses and that would help me with make-up in the morning. Will that make things worse?

I live in Australia, in the southern hemisphere. Does this have any relevance to the references made to the directions?  I notice in many books, written in the UK or in America, that they talk of the south being warm and sunny. In Australia the North is the sunny side.  This is even more confusing when I try to work out the aspect of our home.  You see, the entrance gate is on the north eastern side, and the front door is facing south east, and I am not sure if this is auspicious or not.

We live in a tri-level house with dark paneling throughout. Our lot is 3 acres. Our house is in the southwest corner, facing east. The two-story section is on the south. The land slopes from south to north and from west to east. Our driveway is on the north end of the house. It is wider near the house than at the end. It runs straight, but it has a considerable dip in the middle before rising sharply to meet the road, which is parallel to the house. We have a large tree in front of the house, halfway between the house and the road, blocking the view of the road. We have a double front door with a sliding patio door directly opposite.
