I don't know if you can help me, but I am trying to apply Feng Shui to my designs of my home. I am new to all this, so bear with me. I have a raised ranch that sits on top of a hill. I am having a problem applying the Ba-Qua to my home layout. First, when you enter my home there are steps going upstairs to my living room, dining room, kitchen, and bedrooms. I also have steps going downstairs to the playroom, laundry room, and garage. How do I apply the Ba-Qua to this layout? Second, we normally do not use the front door as our main entrance, but usually enter from the garage. The only time we use the front door is when guests come over - they enter from the front door, not the garage. Can you give any helpful starting points?? Thank you.

I have also been confused by what I have read. I am a rabbit, born 16 May 1951 between 7and 9 p.m. My Ba-Qua belongs to the West 4; element is earth. My home addresses are 94 and 172. My confusion is that I have read that the different areas of the Ba-Qua should use specific colors and elements to enhance them. However, one must take care not to mix the elements and colors because they clash. The Wealth/Money areas of my house are in the laundry and bathroom and toilet. The dominant colors are supposedly dominant Greens, Blues and Black. My auspicious colors are said to be Brown and Yellow. Too much use of Green will diminish my energy. Having the Money/Wealth placed as it is, provides the water element. I have lots of plants, and have used mostly Green and some Black accessories in the bathroom. I ensure that the bathroom door, toilet seat, and all drainage are closed at all times. Is it correct that having so much Green diminishes my personal energy? How can I counteract this? The house is next door to an electrical substation. There are a lot of electric power poles and power pylons to the North, East, South and West. They are all visible through windows. What should I do? What can I do to enhance my house numbers?

I've had a local Feng Shui expert inspect my home. She gave me several cures for the interior, which I have installed. She said the main problem was not the interior, but the land. I'm on a cul-de-sac on a high side – the house faces Northwest. I have geothermal activity in the front yard, and her cure was a fountain, which I have yet to purchase. I've been reading your Q & A section of your WEB page. I haven't seen anything that pertains to my house layout, and I have a few questions. I understand that we use the main entrance and each room’s entrance to set up the life positions in a particular room, but what happens when we have two entrances into each of the main rooms? Our home’s main/front door faces South but that door is seldom used to allow people into the house unless they go out of the door during summer months. The door everyone enters is the side door facing East. The problem, once you come in that door, is that the basement steps are directly to the left. You go up a few steps with walls on either side of you to a landing. At the landing, facing forward (West), there is a pantry, and the entrance into the living room is at your left with a door attached to it. On the right is a doorway into the kitchen without a door on it. You can get to the dining room through a door from the kitchen and an archway from the living room. Our house is a complete square with some protruding living areas in the Northeast side of the house. How can we set the life positions from this hallway? Should we use the front door to set the life positions of the house, even though we don't use it to enter the house? My birthday is 8-7-61, and my husband’s is 5-28-56. I have water running under house. I had a dowser come and set 18" re-rod stakes outside the house to neutralize negative energy. This did work – I don't flee from the house like I used to. But for 23 years I have gotten nowhere – no money, no career, nothing new in my life. Lost a husband and have no new relationships. Things only happen to me off the property. I have been experiencing overly stiff neck muscles, a sense of imbalance (body and senses leaning to the left), and an imbalance of body temperature left to right for about 2 ½ years now. I recently realized that it all began around the same time I had the upper cartilage of my right ear pierced and an earring inserted, which I wear continuously. The actual piercing isn't to blame, as it has healed properly and is infection-free. Also, many doctor's visits prove an absence of physical illness. Most books indicate the best siting for a house is front door facing South; however, one book indicates that for the year of birth - female 1955 - my front door should face Northwest. I presently live in a house facing East and am considering a piece of property to locate a new house and would like to face it South (towards the Gulf of Mexico; the Wakulla River (cannot see either from the property) is parallel (on the left) to the property flowing south to the Gulf).
